Login to Learn

All course information and materials for our current undergraduate and postgraduate students is within the platform 'Learn'.  Learn is the biggest Virtual Learning Environment at the University of Edinburgh, supporting more than 5000 courses annually.

For our School, the Learn platform provides access to course materials, assignments, grades, feedback, lecture recordings, resource lists and much more.

Research ethics and integrity

Our School attaches great importance to addressing the ethical implications of all research activities carried out by its members, be they undergraduates, postgraduates or academic members of staff. 

Attention to the ethical and legal implications of research for researchers, research subjects, sponsors and collaborators is an intrinsic part of good research practice.

You can access Learn via a special channel on the 'MyEd' portal.  You can login to MyEd using your University Login.

Or you can login using the website address:

Use the Learn button in the Learn MyEd channel to open a new window and take you to your My Learn page. If you are enrolled on current Learn courses, you will also find direct links to each course. You can also download the Blackboard app to access your courses from a phone or tablet device when you are on the move.

MyEd Portal

MyEd is the University of Edinburgh's web portal. It is a gateway to web-based services within and beyond the University and offers a personalised set of content with a single sign-on to key University services such as Learn and Office365.

Your University login

Technical requirements

Learn can be used with any up-to-date web browser. You can use the browser checker to check whether your computer has the necessary browser versions and settings.  Most content is also viewable on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. However, there are some limits on what you can do (e.g. discussion posting is tricky on some devices).

Please note: Learn does not work properly on Internet Explorer version 7 or earlier.
