Geographies of Social Justice

The Geographies of Social Justice research group aims to provide a supportive, exciting, and intellectually challenging space for critical scholarship.

Founded in late 2020 we work with anarchist, anti-racist, autonomist, feminist, Marxist, poststructuralist, queer, postcolonial and decolonial theories across a diverse range of fields. These fields include cultural studies, multispecies studies, development studies, political economy, rural and urban studies.

Whilst diverse in approach and focus, our work holds in common a commitment to questions of inequality, power and justice.

Our vision is to provide an active, collective and collaborative space of research support, mentoring, intellectual exchange and visibility for critical human geographers. Our work will uphold the tradition of geography as a radical and engaged discipline that can contribute actively and intellectually to creating a fairer, more sustainable world
