A journal founded by University of Edinburgh PhD student Jack Lee Smith to showcase undergraduate and Master’s research is expanding its reach. The Edinburgh Student Journal of Science (ESJS), originally open only to students in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, is now accepting submissions from students at other universities, most recently including the University of St Andrews. The journal offers a platform for students to publish research from dissertations, summer projects, and internships, with submissions peer-reviewed by PhD students. Accepted articles are professionally formatted, assigned a DOI, and indexed in scholarly databases such as Google Scholar and CrossRef.Founded to help students gain real experience of scientific publishing and peer review, the ESJS has recently moved to a continuous publishing format, with articles being published as soon as they are accepted.Read more about the creation of the Edinburgh Student Journal of Science in this blog postFurther InformationYou can see the full eligibility for submitting, as well as detailed guidance and writing templates on the Edinburgh Student Journal of Science website:The Edinburgh Student Journal of ScienceThe journal is keen to expand to other universities within Scotland, the UK, and beyond.
