Kings Buildings Campus

This campus is around two miles (3km) south of Edinburgh city centre.  Our School has numerous office, research and teaching spaces within this campus. 

Our main locations are:

  • The Grant Institute
  • Crew Building
  • John Murray Laboratories

The Central campus is spread around numerous squares and streets in Edinburgh's city centre, with the highest concentration of University buildings around George Square.

Our School has several buildings located in High School Yards,  which is in the historic Old Town of Edinburgh.  It is around half a mile (600m) to George Square.

  • Edinburgh Climate Change Institute (ECCI)

Our research facilities

We have a full range of laboratory, field, and workshop facilities for our staff, undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. Some can also be used for research collaborations or hire.

We also host several national facilities on behalf of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). 

Our facilities are located across both the Central and Kings Building campuses, as well as further afield.
