Environmental Change and Societal Transitions

The Environmental Change and Societal Transitions research group is an interdisciplinary group that explores the relationship between people, the environment and technology. We are keen to reach beyond individual disciplines to further understand the multiple origins and dynamics of environmental and social problems.

Our group consist of ecologists, human geographers, geographical information systems (GIS) specialists, political scientists, remote sensing scientists and anthropologists.

We are interested in environmental threats and societal responses. Our research can be summarised under the following streams relating to socio-ecological systems, low carbon transitions and environmental risk.
